You have one chance to create a first impression

Take a step back and have a look at your house with fresh eyes. What do you see? You don’t need to spend lots of money to make a great first impression. Well where to start? Get the basics right… weeding, fresh mulch, trimming of shrubs and having lawns mowed can make a massive difference. Once that’s sorted – make sure the front porch and front door is neat and tidy. Whether it’s a fresh coat of paint or clean and de cobweb make it sparkle.

Make your couch sing with cushions, cushions and more cushions!

You can never have enough cushions, think about the colours, textures, patterns (the ones you love). Remember you don’t always need to have the same colours and textures, mix and match different styles as they will work well together. Once you have your cushion look covered put a cosy throw on their to not only top the look off but to keep you cosy and warm throughout the cooler months.

Light & Bright

Don’t worry about the room looking flat or bland, you can add depth, colour and texture later. But first try light, airy and neutral colours such as white, creams or light greys for your walls, window coverings and large furniture items. These light and bright colours will make your room feel more open and spacious. When adding those little extras be careful not to introduce too many colours to the room, as you don’t won’t to make your small space look cluttered or overly busy.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Just by adding a mirror to an area you will instantly open up a room and create the illusion of more space. It will brighten up the room by bouncing light around, helping it make a more spacious feel. So remember to hang a mirror on a wall or even place a large feature mirror on the floor, leaning up against a wall. Don’t be shy and get creative with your mirrors.
